A Legacy Forged In Jodhpur
Fifty-two years of building engines, propellers and aircraft with Indian hands — from a single machine in 1974 to indigenous defence RPAS trusted nationwide.
Since 1974, engineered in India, for Indian skies.
Sharma Model Aero Engines & Propellers began with a stubborn belief that a nation should build its own wings. Half a century later, that belief still runs every machine on our floor.
What follows is our story — from origin, through growth and precision manufacturing, into defence, and onward through the family legacy and community that carry us today.
Our Origins
In 1974, in a modest Jodhpur workshop, Mr. Anand Swaroop Sharma and his brother Mr. Mahesh Kumar began with a single machine and a stubborn conviction — that India could design and build its own aeromodelling engines. It was a nation's aeromodelling dream, taken up by Indian hands.
Growth, One Engine at a Time
What started with one machine grew, patiently, into a full manufacturing operation. As demand grew from clubs, schools and the country's first NCC aeromodellers, so did our capability — engines, propellers and complete flying kits, all made in Jodhpur.
Precision Manufacturing
From a craftsman's hands to computer-aided precision. Today our facility combines in-house CNC machining of wood and metal, computer-aided design, and vacuum-bagged composite fabrication in glass and carbon fibre — legacy craft, sharpened by modern engineering.
Serving Indian Defence Forces
In 1998 we expanded into indigenously designed Remotely Piloted Aircraft and UAS solutions. For nearly three decades our platforms have been trusted by Indian defence training programs, alongside a distribution line of carefully selected third-party UAS products.
A Family Legacy of 140+ Years
Three generations now stand behind the workbench, with over 140 years of combined engineering experience between them. We remain the only company in India to have continuously served Indian aeromodellers and Air Wing NCC units for over 52 years.
Community & Recognition
In partnership with the Aeromodellers' Association India (AMAI) we support shows, workshops and competitions nationwide. Our work is independently recognised — a 4.1/5 rating on IndiaMART, a trusted Justdial listing, and hobbyists whose Sharma engines still run decades on.
